Some psychologists specialise in a certain type of Psychological approach. Margaret utilises a range of methods depending on what suits the individual.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts CBT focuses on solutions, encouraging patients to challenge distorted thinking and change destructive patterns of behavior. It is the most favoured method of most psychologists.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based, cognitive-behavioural therapy. ACT enables you to commit to action that improves and enriches your life by teaching you to deal compassionately with your painful thoughts and feelings, in such a way that they have much less impact and influence over you. ACT also encourages you to think about what is really important to you in your life, in order to take active steps towards connecting with your goals and values.

Non-violent Communication (NVC)

Non-violent Communication (NVC) is a process that focuses on three aspects of communication: self empathy, empathy (listening to another), and honest self-expression (expressing oneself authentically in a way that is likely to inspire compassion in others). NVC proposes that if people can identify their needs, the needs of others and the feelings that surround these needs, harmony can be achieved.

Demartini Method

Demartini Method is a procedure that involves a systematic pre-determined series of questions to neutralize an individual’s emotional charges and balance mental and physical reactions. A continuous thinking process and writing action is repeated over a course of time that results in a resolution of unbalanced perceptions.
